Lexus GS – F: A normally aspirated, hot V8 four door saloon. Style, performance and memories
Road test of the Lexus GS-F in Australia. David Brown talks to Alan Zurvas from Gaycarboys.
Holden and Ford in Australia have made a name racing large, V8 four door sedans.
But the luxury car makers have also been in the market with Mercedes AMG models, BMW M cars and any Audi with a RS designation.
Lexus has a new model in this segment the GS-F. It is a normally aspirated 5 litre V8 which reminds us (in a rather distant way) of the first V8 to win the classic long distance touring car race at Bathurst. This one has many more modern features , power and efficiency.
About Author
David Brown started his working life as a Civil Engineer but you would not want him to design a bridge you wanted to safely walk over. His passion was in traffic engineering and transport planning which is all about how we use our transport systems not how we build them. He soon became involved in commenting on issues through all avenues of the media. He is now a motoring and transport journalist. He test drives a new car each week but his ultimate measure of how good a car is relies on his 12 year old and the Hayden Brown “Will you drive me to school in that car” factor.
