I am always amazed that Holden in Australia, which is part of one of the largest car companies in the world, fails to have a vehicle in important segments of the market.
The small SUV market in Australia is the fastest growing SUV segment and one of the fastest growing segments in all categories. So far this year sales for the segment are up 21.6%. About one in five new SUVs are in the small category.
Holden has not had a car in this segment for some time until it released the Trax in August this year.
The new Trax typifies the broader definition that we now apply to SUVs. It is only available in front wheel drive.
But does that matter.
