Driving a 1979 Lincoln Continental; Huge two-door; A lounge on wheels

When the Lincoln name was introduced into the Ford line up in 1939, it was as a personal vehicle for Edsel Ford.

The latest models have smooth rounded lines but from the second generation starting in 1956 to the end of the seventh generation in 1988 they were cars with a lot of straight lines and chiseled features.

They were a monument to American excess. Not pretty but certainly stand-out in their looks.

Ford has pitched them as the American Rolls Royce.
I came across the owner of a 1979 Lincoln continental. The vehicle was 5.65 metres long and it is a two door.

Mark and I went for a drive and chatted about the car, his other vehicles which include a Smart ForTwo!!
