Road Safety Ads with Soames Job; What works and what doesn’t


Governments of all persuasions have run community advertising campaigns promoting road safety.

Many have a creative approach and are hard hitting.  But it is not a matter of whether we like the ads or we even remember them.  The big issue is do they change our behaviour – are we better, safer drivers because of their approach.

Some of the ads with the greatest public support fail to produce the desired result.

To help us understand what works and what doesn’t, we speak to Soames Job, the Principal of  Global Road Safety Solutions and the Adjunct Professor of Transport and Road Safety at the University of New South Wales.
